Turn a link into something scannable
A QR code is the practical way to make a link printable: put it on a menu, a business card, a label, a poster or a slide, and anyone can point a camera at it and land on the page. It is the alternative to expecting people to type a long address by hand.
This tool generates a code from your link or plain text and downloads it as a PNG. The code is created in your browser — the address you type is never sent to a server and never logged.
Make it fit your design
A plain black-and-white square does not suit every layout. You can change the colours, the dot style and the icon in the middle. The one thing to watch is contrast: keep a dark pattern on a light background, or cameras will struggle to read it.
Always scan your own code with your own phone before sending it to print — especially if you lightened the colours or dropped a large icon into the centre, which both push it towards the limits of readability.
How to create a free QR code
Step 1: Enter the content
Type the link the code should open, or the text it should carry. Starting links with `https://` is the safest approach.
Step 2: Style it
Choose colours, a dot style and optionally an icon for the centre. Keep the contrast between pattern and background high.
Step 3: Test with your phone
Scan the on-screen preview with your own camera and confirm it goes where you expect.
Step 4: Download as PNG
Save the code and place it in your poster, business card or menu design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my QR code expire?
No. The code carries the content itself — there is no record on our side and no redirect in between. It keeps working for as long as the address it points to is live.
What if the code will not scan?
Low contrast is the usual cause. Keep the background light and the pattern dark, and darken very pale colours. If the centre icon is large, shrink it. In print, leave a margin of empty space around the code and do not print it too small.
Is there a limit on text length?
A QR code has a finite data capacity, and the more text you add the denser and harder to scan the pattern becomes. For long content, link to a page rather than embedding everything in the code.
Can I see scan statistics?
No. This tool generates the code in your browser and leaves it there; tracking scans would require logging on a server, which is not how this is built.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. The code you generate is yours to use on menus, packaging, posters or business cards.
